G9 bid manager appointed

The G9 today announced that it had appointed Mr Michael Simmons to the role of G9 Bid Manager.

Mr Simmons will work full time managing the development of the G9 bid strategy and preparing the G9’s submission documentation for the Federal Government’s National Broadband Network (NBN).

Mr Simmons was most recently Chief Executive Officer of SP Telemedia Limited (“SOUL”) which is a member of G9. This very senior appointment confirms the G9’s commitment to NBN.

“The G9 represents the majority of broadband providers in Australia today and we are committed to preparing and lodging a competitive bid. The G9, representing industry, is the right party to achieve the Government’s desired NBN outcomes,” Mr Simmons said.

The G9 will shortly announce the appointment of a Chairman.
